What is Special Collections?
The Special Collections Department includes:
- Jaffe Center for Book Arts
- Recorded Sound Archives
- University Archives
- Weiner Collection
We offer a plethora of resources for our students, faculty, and researchers.
Our rare books collection contains:
- More than 10,000 books from 1530 to the present and consists of handmade books, vellum bindings, books rebound from fifteenth-century manuscripts, annotated works, illustrated books, and small press editions.
- Sheet music and sound recordings.
- In addition, there are over 13,000 items in the Weiner Spirit of America Collection which includes books, pamphlets, government publications, newspapers and serials, and rare works from as early as the 16th century.
